Lindsey

How long have you been in the hair industry?

Less than 2 years

Did you apprentice under anyone and what knowledge did you gain from that experience?

I am currently apprenticing for Sirens Salon Owner Emma Ulland. I’m gaining everything from the experience! It’s amazing what hairdressers think they know until they get out of cosmetology school. I feel very fortunate to have found a great mentor and make the right decision to seek apprenticeship.

What do you love about the art of hairdressing?

The idea of transformation. There are so many amazing looks that came from each decade. I can really appreciate the amount of effort women used to put into their hair since the 1920’s – 60’s. To me, hairdressing is the same as what a block of marble is to a sculptor. There are endless possibilities.

What is your hair specialty?

Being that I’m still apprenticing, there are so many things I’m discovering, and still have yet to discover. I hope to specialize in sets and styles. I’m confident to say I can give a killer blowout.

What’s your favorite hair product? Why?

Unite Boosta Spray. I’m a big believer in Volume! I’m not one of the fortunate people that was born with it, so I’m always striving to create it. I believe Volume is the foundation to having sexy hair and making an art of it.

What are you passionate about?

Art has always motivated everything I do in life. I’m very passionate about Music, film, writing, and fashion. Except for writing, hair is a major factor in all those things. We express ourselves through our hair. We even take our emotions out on our hair. I think I chose a good career path.

I began my hair journey back in 2005, when I graduated from The Paul Mitchell Academy. Ever since then, I’ve found myself happily at Sirens Salon for four years.

Did you apprentice under anyone and what knowledge did you gain from that experience?

I apprenticed under the wonderful Emma Bargas-Ulland. She showed me how to accommodate many clients at a time, work diligently with my time, and make clients feel fabulous!

What do you love about the art of hairdressing?

I feel that being able to express yourself through any art form is amazing. In this case, I use the art of hairdressing to show off my passion and dedication.

What is your hair specialty?

As a lover of thick, natural hair, I believe that long hair would be my specialty. Retraining the length of an individual’s hair by adding layers and texturizing is really amazing and beautiful.

What’s your favorite hair product? Why?

I choose using Unite products to create a smooth, voluminous look. My favorite cocktail to create a glossy, soft, touchable finish would be combining LAZER Straight, BOOSTA Spray, and SHINA drops.

What are you passionate about?

My goal is to make everyone that walks through my door feel and exude confidence and sexiness. By making a client feel that way, I have accomplished what I am passionate about doing: hair.
